A little help for your pit.
MemPit 1.0 is a simple, local collection for text, links, photos, and files. It works on iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 17 or later.
How do I save something?
Write in the capture field and tap Drop it. Use the upload button to choose Photos, Files, or Clipboard. You can also paste into the text field. Save attachments with or without text. Your unfinished draft is kept when you leave the app.
How do I find, edit, or share a memory?
Search looks through saved text and attachment filenames. Open a memory to read it, follow links, or preview files. Its actions menu lets you edit text, copy, share, or delete. You can share attachments individually. Changing attachments after saving is not available in this version.
Why is a file taking time to import?
A photo or file stored with a cloud provider may need to download first. Check your connection, or download it in Photos or Files and try again. Each attachment can be up to 100 MB (100 MiB). Folders and symbolic links cannot be imported; choose the files inside a folder instead. Use Cancel to stop waiting for an import.
Can I use MemPit on more than one device?
Each installation keeps its own collection. Version 1.0 has no cloud sync, shared library, or web interface. Your saved content works offline; files from a cloud provider may need a connection during import.
Your memories, in your hands.
MemPit makes its own copy of imported files. Moving or deleting the original does not change the saved copy.
To export, open About and export from the top-right menu, then choose Export memories. Save the ZIP to Files or share it to a destination you trust. It contains your original attachments and a manifest.json file with saved text, dates, and links. Unfinished drafts are excluded.
Exports are not password protected. The current export limit is less than 4 GiB and up to 65,532 attached files. Importing or restoring an export into MemPit is not yet available.
